Multiple Food from Single Card

Every student residing at our hostel has an ID & mess card that can be used to purchase food at reduced prices. If your card is being used for multiple foods (for multiple people) on a regular basis, it may be blocked and a fine may be imposed as per concession given on excess food.
We have a strong electronic system to track the same. We understand that sometimes you buy food for your friends as he/she may be out of balance. But this practice must be occasional.
Any person residing outside our hostel must buy food at normal price from the Cash Counter.
We request you to stop using your card for multiple foods for multiple people to avoid any inconvenience.

Payment/Enrollment for MESS CARD for PhD Students Staying Outside

Information given on this page is only for PhD Students staying outside.
You can recharge your mess account using any of the three options 
  1. Cash Deposit in Bank : You can deposit your recharge amount in cash to IOB Branch Mohanpur using Bank Details given above and fill the payment form given below then visit the accountant(in visiting hour) with your cash deposit slip. Your Account will be credited  within 30-60 minutes and confirmation mail will be sent to you.
  2. Internet Banking can be used to transfer funds to the bank details provided below.  You must mention your Roll no in Credit remarks while making the transaction. Note down the UTR/Transaction no and  fill the payment form given below . Your account will be credited with your recharge amount in 24-72 hours subject to verification from bank statement. Confirmation mail will be sent to your account. You don't need to visit accountant for updating the balance.

Computerized System and Modified Modalities for 31st Dinner

Dear all,

We are happy to let you know that we could keep up to our promise, and we are going to completely move to a Computerized billing system from 1st August 2015. We would remain thoroughly grateful to the CCC for making this happen, and especially to Mr. Rana Bhadra, who single handed coded the entire system!

To inform you about this transition: Whatever be the last balance on your card , would be added as your initial balance in the new computerized system.

However to facilitate the transition, we would have to shut down the existing paper card system for one meal. The changed modalities of procuring the DINNER on 31st July would be:
 
1.All the existing ID Card user will be getting dinner from computer counter as earlier.
2. All the existing  active Paper Card (red,blue,green,yellow) users will have to procure dinner by paying in cash (No extra 30% will be charged on submission of the existing card).

The remaining balance on individual cards will then be fed in to the server, and we would officially start using the Computerized System for all our transactions from the BREAKFAST ON 1st AUG. Please note the following points:


  • Your ID card will not work on 1st august if it has a negative balance.
  • All  blocked card users will have to eat in cash from cash counter as per non-member price list, till they have positive balance in their accounts. 
  • All the cards of project students will be closed and they have to eat from cash counter till we develop a mechanism for them in this new system. The CCC is working on it, and hopefully will be done within a month. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused.
  • Without showing ID card food will NOT be served. 
  • Using other's ID card is strictly prohibited.
  • From the 1st August 2015 onwards we would have a revised menu along with a revised price list (taking into account the feedback and suggestions received from many).

New students(15RS,15IP,15MS etc) are requested to come to the mess with their ID cards and activate their mess accounts by recharging it with their desired balance (we would recommend some amount within  ₹1000-2500). It can do so by using your ATM/DEBIT/Credit Card or make the payment by NEFT or Bank Transfer  as per detail given here .

P.S. Since it is a new system even for the workers, there may be some delay in the first few days. We request you to please cooperate with them.

Clearance of your Negative Balance

Those who are not residing in the campus please ignore this notice and list.

It is really depressing to see most students not co operating with the Students' Monitored Canteen with the payment of their respective bills and it would be hard for the mess to sustain this way.
Due to heavy pending negative balance of students, we are unable to pay the bills(aprox 10lacs) to our vendor. Therefore, we request all of you to clear all your dues by
28th July by paying recommended amount for you so that you can immediately use the new computerized mess billing system from Month of August. Failing to this you have to eat as per non members. as pewr mail recieved by you please pay your pending negative balance by 14th August 2015.

Therefore it is a kind request to the student community to support us by clearing their negative balance and recharge their mess account to keep it positive (suggested atleast Rs 1000 positive balance). For the kind information of students (especially those who are out of campus) the recharge policy is still the same, Pay the amount online and fill up the form available on the website.


Computerized Billing System in Student Mess

We are happy to inform you that we are set for trial of Computerized billing System in Student Mess before we launch it fully in next month(tentatively).

Feature :  
  1. Your IISER-K ID will be used for your Identification and Billing. Your ID will be detected using Bar-Code Reader and then billing will done with a print of receipt that you need to show on Food counter.Your remaining balance will also be printed on the electronic printed slip.
  2. You need to have positive balance to use your Card and Clear all your Dues in your previous paper Card System. Recharging of the Card will remain same as below :
    1. Swipe your ATM /Debit/Credit Card at Canteen POS with Accountant(in visiting hour) and your Account will be credited within 30 minutes and confirmation mail will be sent to your email ID. However, for Card swiping extra 1% Bank Charges for using POS will be charged. In doing this, you will no longer have to fill usual Payment form.
    2. Internet Banking (NEFT etc.) :   You can deposit the recharge amount in our bank account (Details given here). Must write your Roll no in Credit remarks while making online transfer. Note down the UTR/Transaction no and  fill the payment form. Your account will be credited with your recharge amount in 24-72 hours (After you fill the form with correct details) subject to verification from bank statement and confirmation mail will be sent to your account. You don't need to visit accountant for updating the balance.
    3. Cash Deposit in Bank : You can deposit your recharge amount in cash to IOB Branch Mohanpur using Bank Details here and fill the payment form then visit the accountant (in visiting hour) with your cash deposit slip. Your Account will be credited  within 30-60 minutes and confirmation mail will be sent to you.
  3. In All Modes mentioned above, minimum recharge is ₹ 500.00. We suggest you to recharge with  at least ₹ 1000.00 to ₹ 2500.00 whenever your Card balance goes below to ₹ 500.00 to avoid last minute rush and inconvenience caused in this process. Your current balance is always printed on your daily food slip or check here. Any unspent balance always carry forward to next month.
  4. If you are through with Step 2 and have positive balance you can use your ID card as stated in Step no 1.
****All the students are requested to clear all their dues and have positive balance in their account by 28th July 2015 so that they can immediately use "Computerized Billing System " from Month of august without any interruption.(Make online payment if you're not in institute if possible) ****

Lunch     :  12:00PM to 02:00PM

Eve.  Snacks : 5:00PM to 6:30PM

Dinner :  8:00PM to 10:00PM

 

Canteen card will be issued daily from 09:00PM to 10:00PM in the canteen till 8th of the September. Please bring your UTR No or Payment slip.You can also fill the payment detail in form given at canteen website in payment /recharge method section.
